Description:

Valves linear-lanceolate, narrowing towards the produced, capitate endings that flex slightly upwards; dorsal margin parallel to slightly convex; ventral margin slightly concave.  Raphe eccentric, stretching along the valve margin and biarcuate (closer to the ventral margin centrally than near the poles); proximal raphe endings simple; distal raphe endings hooked towards the dorsal margin.  Striae more widely spaced at the center of the valve; striae slightly radiate in the center, becoming parallel to convergent towards the ends.  Fibulae (keel puncta) variable in size and spacing.
