Striae: 28-34 transapical striae in 10 µm

Description:

Valves linear to linear-elliptical with broadly rounded ends (L 10-19 µm, W 4 6µm, 28-34 transapical striae in 10 µm). RV : axial area linear, narrow. Central area, asymmetrical, reaching only one valve margin. Raphe filiform with unexpanded central endings and terminal fissures deflected in different directions. ARV: axial area narrow, linear. Central area asymmetrical.

Notes:

Common but only in very low abundances. Seems typical for drier soils and terrestrial mosses.So far only found on Tristan da Cunha & Gough Island.
