Length: 21-38µm
Width: 3-4µm
Striae: 15-21 fibulae in 10µm

Description:

Valves linear-lanceolate with convex margins and with broadly rounded, slightly protracted ends (L 21-38µm, W 3-4µm, 15-21 fibulae in 10µm). Fibulae in the middle equidistantly spaced. Transapical striae not resolvable in LM.

Notes:

Fairly common in relatively dry (F-value V-VI) mosses and small, highly alkaline pools with high nutrient (phosphate 2,5mg/l) and specific conductance values (>1500µS/cm).Maritime Antarctic Region (Van de Vijver & Beyens 1997b).
