Description:
Valves linear, slightly concave in the middle with cuneately rounded ends (L 50 90µm, W 6-8µm, 9-11 fibulae in 10µm). Raphe keel quite eccentric with regularly placed fibulae, the two in the middle slightly more spaced than the others. Each fibula contacts 1 (sometimes 2) stria. Transapical striae interrupted in the middle by a large hyaline area, 17-18 striae in 10µm.

Found in low abundances in large lakes in the Jardin Japonais with high pH values (> 9,0).First record for the (Sub-)Antarctic Region.
