Notes:
Bollard, Ile de la Possession, Crozet Archipelago, Sample BA173 (coll. date 31/01/2002).Found in several semi-wet soil samples taken from scratches in the cliffs bordering the coastline. Influence of sea-spray is quite likely.so far only known from Ile de la Possession.N. chardezii shows some resemblance to N. vitrea Norman and N. vitrea var. salinarum Grunow but can easily be distinguished by the different structure of the striae. In these two taxa the individual areolae are clearly visible which is not the case in N. chardezii. Both taxa have also a less robust outlook.
