Description:

Valves linear with almost parallel margins and obtusely rounded apices (L 18 20µm, W 4,5-6µm). Axial area narrow, linear with an expanded central area. Striae bordering the central area are lacking or very shortened (only 2-4 areolae present). Transapical striae radiate. Annuloid structures near the poles quite distinct. Raphe filiform, straight with slightly expanded central pores and deflected terminal fissures.

Notes:

Fairly common in relatively dry (40-50%), slightly acid (pH 6,2-6,5) soil samples.
