Description:
Valves linear-elliptical to elliptical (smaller forms) with broadly rounded, non protracted ends (L 8-11µm, W 2,5-3,5µm, 26-28 striae in 10µm). Axial area narrow, linear. Central area large, forming a fascia sometimes bordered by several shortened striae. Raphe filiform with small central pores and hooked terminal fissures.

Common in larger acid circumneutral lakes with low specific conductance values (<100µS/cm). Less common in moss and soil samples.
