Striae: 25-27 striae in 10µm

Description:

Valves elliptical-lanceolate with protracted, slightly subcapitate ends (L ± 23µm, W 5-6µm, 25-27 striae in 10µm). Axial area narrow. Central area absent. Raphe typically Craticula-like with distinct central pores and deflected terminal fissures. Transapical striae parallel throughout the entire valve.

Notes:

Only found in one small, circumneutral pool with low specific conductance and nutrient values (phosphate, ammonium and nitrate concentrations almost 0).So far only known from Ile de la Possession. Recently (1993) established taxon.
