Notes:
Fairly common in larger, slightly acid lakes with low (<100µS/cm) specific conductance values.Kerguelen (Le Cohu, personal communication). This taxon presents all features typical for Chamaepinnularia. They are easily separated from similar taxa in the samples such as C. evanida or C. australomediacris, the latter having a large fascia. Nevertheless, a clear identification of this taxon could not be found. It is possible that we are dealing here with a new taxon. Further research sould clarify this.
