Description:

Valves linear-lanceolate with cuneately rounded, non-protracted ends (L 28 38µm, W 4,5-6,5µm, 21-23 striae in 10µm). No pseudosepta present. Axial area narrow, linear. Central area a relatively broad fascia, widening towards the valve margins. Raphe filiform, weakly undulating. Central pores laterally bent, drop-like. Terminal fissures ?-shaped. Transapical striae radiate in the middle, parallel to weakly convergent near the poles.

Only found in low numbers (<1%) in some relatively wet (50-65%) soil samples.First record for the (Sub-)Antarctic Region.
