Description:

Valves lanceolate with subcapitate, cuneately rounded ends. Length 20 37µm. Width 4-7µm. Axial area narrow, linear. Central area rhombic with a large fascia. Raphe filiform with slightly bent, distinct central pores. Terminal fissures ?-shaped. Transapical striae moderately radiate in the middle, convergent towards the poles, 17-20 in 10µm. No longitudinal bands.

Notes:

Crique du Sphinx, Ile de la Possession, Crozet Archipelago, Sample BA105 (coll. date 01/12/1999).Rare. Only found on the type locality, a soil sample taken from a bare, relatively dry (±52%) soil.So far only found on Ile de la Possession.
