Description:
Valves linear-elliptical with parallel margins and cuneate ends (L 23-44µm, W 6 7,5µm, 32-35 striae in 10µm). Axial area fairly narrow, much wider near the central area, central area circular, sometimes irregular due to irregularly shortened striae. Striae clearly visible as rows of single poroids. Raphe filiform, slightly curved with small central pores. Terminal fissures bent in the same directions.

Found in very low numbers (max. rel. abundance <4%) in wet mosses and small pools with slightly acid pH (6-6,5) and low specific conductance (80µS/cm).Only known from Chile and Brazil (Krasske 1939).Valves are larger than the ones described by Krasske (1939: 16-25µm) and Lange-Bertalot & Moser (1994: 16-26µm) with more striae in 10µm.
