Description:

Valves linear-lanceolate with undulated margins and cuneately rounded ends (L 25-35µm, W 4,5-6,5µm, 21-24 striae in 10µm). Axial area narrow, linear. Central area a broad rectangular fascia. Raphe straight, linear with weakly deflected central endings. Central pores distinct. Transapical striae parallel to weakly radiate in the middle, entirely parallel towards the ends. Longitudinal band present.

Rare on Ile de la Possession. No clear ecological preferences measured.Kerguelen (Bourrelly & Manguin 1954 (as C. silicula var. peisonis Hustedt), Le Cohu & Maillard 1986).
