Width: 2,5-3,5µm
Striae: 13-17 striae in 10µm

Description:

Valves with weakly concave ventral side and convex dorsal side. Ends clearly capitate (L 18-26µm, W 2,5-3,5µm, 13-17 striae in 10µm). Distal nodules visible in LM as small points. Distal raphe endings not resolvable in LM.

Notes:

Rare on Ile de la Possession. Due to possible confusion with E. paludosa, the ecology is not clearly known. With 100% certainty found in relatively dry (± 48%), acid soil sample with higher chloride values.South Orkney Islands (Oppenheim 1990).
