Striae: ± 40 striae in 10µm

Description:

Valves linear-lanceolate, clearly convex in the middle with broadly rounded ends (L 11-16µm, W 2-3,5µm, ± 40 striae in 10µm). Axial area linear, relatively broad. Central area elliptical. Raphe filiform, straight with indistinct central and terminal endings. Transapical striae radiate in the middle, parallel to even convergent towards the poles.

Notes:

Crique de Noël, Ile de la Possession, Crozet Archipelago, Sample BA160 (coll. date 28/01/2002).Found once in a small fissure in cliffs bordering the coastline. Occurring in very low numbers.Only found so far on Ile de la Possession.
